Soft and hard contact lenses are the two basic categories, but you’ll find a lot of variety and many possibilities among our Gardena contact lenses. We’re pleased to offer a wide selection to suit your individual needs. Unlike some chains, we don’t approach your vision as by-the-numbers. We take into account that you are unique and so is your vision and your comfort level.
Both soft and hard lenses should not be difficult to wear, though soft lenses are typically easier to get accustomed to. Hard lenses, which are sometimes also called rigid lenses or gas-permeable, hold the advantages of providing sharper and clearer vision than their soft lens counterparts, and they’re also the best option when you have severe nearsightedness or astigmatism. Soft lenses are available in four types, allowing for the flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Daily wear can be worn for up to 18 hours. You take them out at bedtime and clean them in preparation for the next day. If you’d prefer lenses that you can wear while you sleep, then extended wear are the ones for you. Disposable are worn just a single time. Then they are discarded. And color-changing allow you to have a completely new eye color. They can be though of as fashion accessories, and you don’t even need vision correction in order to wear them. And if you need bifocal or multifocal lenses, our Gardena contact lenses can provide that benefit, too.
To get started, call us and schedule an eye exam. If you already wear contacts and it’s been at least a year since your last exam, you’re due for one also. To make sure you’re fully ready for our Gardena contact lenses, your exam will include a checkup of your eyelids, conjunctiva, and corneas (including their curvature). This will ensure that the parts of your eyes that touch your contacts don’t have any concerns that might lead to irritation or infection. We’ll also be sure to fit them to you, to make certain you’re comfortable in them and that they are properly centered to give you optimal vision correction.
